Pretty In Pink

January 12, 2015

My family and I recently moved into my mom’s house. We are using our house as a rental property now and hope to be moving into a little larger home soon. In our own home I had my own craft and wood working room. I have to admit aside from not having my own kitchen, I have missed my craft room the most. This weekend I decided to remedy that. I devoted a corner of my husband and I’s room to my girly stuff as he’d call it! I was completely inspired by my new planner and a bill organizer that I bought. The rest just fell into place.

We came up with this mini desk plan pretty easily. We used MDF as the top and nailed some trim around the edges. We braced it against the wall with 2×3’s and 1×4’s. We used pocket holes to screw 3 inch screws into the studs. I taped off the walls and painted it a bright white! The whole things cost less than $25!

It’s simple yet really inspiring for me. The golds, whites, and soft pinks put me in creativity heaven! What can I say, I like pretty!

I could have purchased gold prints at a variety of stores but I made my own using my Silhouette Cameo and a couple sheets of card stock. The black frames were under $5 at Target!

Tissue paper tassels have been around for a while. If you’ve never made them and want to in the future, here are some great instructions.

Here is what most of my photos look like! Most shoots take a little longer to get done with a toddler running around. Oh well, it makes things interesting. Charlie likes to be right with me. Maybe as he gets older I can train him to take the pictures ha!

This is the most feminine I’ve ever gone in a room. I think it’s important to have your very own space even if it is just a corner. This little corner of the room reflects me and I hope it’ll inspire me throughout year. Surround yourself with the things that reflect you most.

Jennifer, I will be! It was very simple. I did make them with my Silhouette Cameo. I will be doing a post on the fun things I’ve done with it so far.
