Confetti Heart Mug

I know Valentine’s day isn’t until February, but I wanted to show you this a little early so you’d have plenty of time before the big day. I did a Sharpie mug tutorial back in December. I found out that not any Sharpie will work. A lot of those tutorials on Pinterest do not tell you that you have to use an oil based Sharpie or paint pen. If you use a regular Sharpie it will NOT work! You can buy oil based Sharpies at most craft stores. They are a little expensive so look for Joann & Michaels coupons on their website. You can find my original tutorial here.

To get a perfect heart, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a heart from vinyl. You can certainly free hand it or trace it on.

I chose pink and black for my confetti colors. I was in desperate search for a gold Sharpie but after finding many stores were out of stock, I settled for black.

I started by placing my dots from the inside out.

Once I had it the way I wanted it, I peeled the vinyl off and put the mug in my oven. I put the mug in while the oven was preheating to 350 degrees. Once it got to 350 I baked it for 40 minutes. Leave it in the oven to cool completely. Once it’s cooled you can take it out.

Now you’re ready to enjoy!

I added the J+A just for a little extra! I kinda love it.
